Meezer for Adoption in Calgary

Karate Kit and his family, his mom Molly Brown and seven siblings were found living under a deck. His adoption is pending. His sibs include Huckabee, Tumbles, Nicklebee,Ping Pong and Twinkle Toe. He is described as "bashful" but I bet I could get him to open up. He could not resists my feline meezer charms.

His kindly mom even adopted Pribce Harry, who was not only homelss but motherless. All of these kittens can be seen at the The Meow Foundation

I also have to put a word in for Schubert. Schubet is a 3.8 year old part
Himalayan kitty with blue eyes who needs to be the only cat in his home. This is what the humans who have ben helping him say about him: "He
needs a predictable, relaxed environment with adults or a mature family (teens). The poor fellow was living on the streets and was terrified of the experience. It took six months for his rescuer to gain his trust and now that he is safe and sound he is so happy to be inside and cared for. Schubert is gentle, quiet and a pleasure to sit quietly with and relax. Schubert does not want a rambunctious household. He is a refined gentleman who likes a calm home filled with cozy beds and affection. Sometimes Schubert acts like a small dog and loves to follow you as you go about your day. He loves to be near people and know that he is loved. He gently puts his paw on you when you sit down so he can have contact with you. Schubert would be in heaven to be in a home with lots of gentle love and attention."

A Mitzvah for Three Kittens

These three little kittens have lost more than their mittens. In fact, these poor babies from Palm Beach, Florida have no home. A kind woman and her daughter, however, saved them from the rain and wind of Hurricane Wilma and they now need forever homes. Their
story deserves a happy ending, or is that a beginning.

Kitty of the Week

This is Autumn who urgently needs a home. Here is what she wants you to know: "My owners didn't want to take care of me, so I had 8 litters of kittens in two years. This took all my strength, and I weigh 5lbs and am emaciated. Thanks to a wonderful lady, I'm now spayed and on the road to recovery. I am ever so grateful, and I"m a sweet, sweet purry love sponge girl with haunting eyes who wants nothing more than a soft bed, food and loving! That's not asking so much, so can YOU give me what I've never had?? I'll do just fine with other cats and dogs too! **UPDATE** Just look at me now! No more skin-and-bones!! I'm feelin' just fine and ready to go!!"

Autumn is avialble at Deb's Lucky Rescue in St.Lazare, Quebec. She has two babies also available as well if anyone is seeking kittens.

Here she is with one of her kittens, Fluffy:

My Condolensces to Red the Cat

I am still thinking and sighing over Red the Ottawa Tabby Cat and his windfall. You know that question on those lottery commercials our humans are so fond of? "Everybody's gotta dream?" What would you cats and kittens out there do if like Red, you came into serious money. Would you spend it on yourself or would you help less fortunate felines? Donate to a no kill kitty shelter - and even help some of our canine friends? Throw a party at a tuna plant? No, wait - I am not supposed to eat tuna - I could find a lobster plant Red, if you are interested.

But where are my manners. I must send Red my deepest condolences because I know that as a kitty, what he wants most - besides good food and a clean litter box and lots of toys - is his human to be with him, petting him and talking to him. Please take time to heal Red! Let those good people at the United Church help you. Life will be good again even if your person is not here to share it with you.

Cats in the News

I would love to meet Red, one of the richest kitties in Canada now that his human has passed on. Do humans have a Rainbow Bridge? Is his owner waiting for him? Red's human left him over a million dollars so I guess he has given new meaning to the word fat cat.
Red's story is in a Tale of Two Kitties . He has to share the limelight with a tabby named Milly, who has a harrowing rescue to explain!

Neither tale is no less dramatic than the kittens who were buried alive though.

A Tabby named Dude from across the pond managed to get himself into quite a fix er I should say a tree. Pssst...Dude, tress are for the birds! He was rescued after three days however.

Cat in three-day tree ordeal

Speaking of news from across the pond, a feline named Emily obviously wanted to explore France for herself. Maybe she wanted to sample the baguettes though for that she should have tried Paris and not Nancy. Emily's journey was an adventure as a stowaway. I hope she kept a journal and picked a ship with mice! I also think she should have consulted me. I after all have connections with humans who understand the complicated immigration mess she is now in plus I am a bilingual Siamese! Here is her story yet again
